Cheater-bug

A few weeks ago, while i was tapping my EZ link card on the bus, the bus uncle suddenly yelled, "Ooi!!!" and I thought he was yelling at me so i looked at him. However, he pointed at the guy before me and scolded at the guy to come back. Apparently, the person didn't tap his EZ link card as he squeezed through the crowd and was caught by the observant bus-driver! *applause for the eagle-eyed bus uncle*

How embarassing isn't it! The trip near my work place to the interchange is probably like $1.30 at its max and why will a young chap (probably in his early or mid-twenties) try to save such an amt? Plus judging at his outfit, he should be a working adult. Disgusted by such a person man! trying to cheat on public transport? eeeks. i rather he go steal something more if he wants to be a thief.

The guy didn't say anything or apologized after being caught red-handed. He simply took out his wallet to tap it on the card reader and pretended nothing has happened. As he was standing beside me, I could see him clearly...and i thought to myself, What an utter disgrace. The next day , i told my colleagues abt this ugly singaporean and they shared with me some of their encounters as well. Indeed there are more of such people out there who tries to cheat their bus fare, not only that young chap...SINGAPORE. what can i say?

This morning, while having breakfast with my colleagues, I saw a familiar face. He was eating alone. And i thought for a long time why he seemed familiar? I started to wonder if i met him at any events, friend's friend or..HEY. he's the guy who cheated the bus fare! And he works here?! By the time i recalled, he had already walked into his dept. I whispered to my colleagues and all of them were so eagered to know who this person was. They wanted me to come along with them to "stroll" in that dept so they can see who this cheater was. Hahaa. I'm not sure if i should be mean and point out the cheater-bug. So despite their persistence, i have decided not to disclose his identity. But i can't stop them from guessing who the cheater-bug is , n if they've guessed correctly...*Ahem* then too bad for him. hahaa!

Who says the kind-hearted gets appreciated?

There was a man who worked for the Post Office... whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.

The letter read:Dear God,I am an 83-year-old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner.Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me?

Sincerely,
Edna

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman. The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter came from the old lady to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.

It read:Dear God,How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was $4 missing. I think it must have been those thieving bastards at the Post Office.

Sincerely,
Edna
